Professional Designations

Buying property is a complex and stressful task. In fact, it's often the biggest single investment you will make in your lifetime. At the same time, real estate transactions have become increasingly complicated.  New technology, laws, procedures and the increasing sophistication of buyers and sellers require real estate practitioners to perform at an ever-increasing level of professionalism. So it's more important than ever that you work with an agent who has a keen understanding of the real estate business.  I believe earning additional designations is necessary to grow and stay on the cutting edge of the real estate market.  That is why I earned and continue to maintain my ABR, CRS and GRI designations.

ABR - Accredited Buyer's Representative

A buyer’s agent who has earned the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation has made an extra effort to raise the bar, with additional training and experience in serving you, the homebuyer.  When you work with an ABR® , you can feel more confident that you’ll receive the highest level of buyer representation services.

CRS - Certified Residential Specialist

The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation is the highest professional designation awarded to Realtors in the residential sales field.  Less than 4% of all Realtors hold the CRS designation. To earn the CRS designation, Realtors must complete additional education requirements and meet high sales volumes requirements.  The sales volume requirement is to ensure that they not only have the “book” knowledge to successfully work with buyers and sellers, but that they also have the real world knowledge that can only be gained by working on numerous real estate transactions.  This designation also places a high emphasis on ethics and abiding by the National Association Of Realtors® Code of Ethics. A CRS is trained to minimize financial risks and legal risks associated with buying or selling a home.

GRI - Graduate REALTOR Institute

The GRI program has helped the best and the brightest in the industry achieve a greater understanding of the real estate business.  Realtors with the GRI designation have taken over 100 hours of classes to earn this designation. The GRI classes cover real estate law, financing, contracts, risk management, home construction and many other important real estate topics.  When you see the letters "GRI" after an agent's name, you can count on receiving the knowledge and guidance you need to make your transaction go smoothly.
